A new movie by Harvest Films is applauded by the International Christian Film Festival, the Christian Life International Film Festival, and the Churches Making Movies Christian Film Festival

RIVERSIDE, CA (ANS) -- Hope for Hurting Hearts, starring Greg and Cathe Laurie, Jeremy Camp, Nick Vujicic and narrated by Dr. James Dobson, has won the award for Best Documentary at the International Christian Film Festival by Josiah Productions.

According to a news release, the film also won the award for Most Powerful Message at the Christian Life International Film Festival, and is an Official Selection for Best Documentary at the Churches Making Movies Christian Film Festival, which will be announcing winners in mid-October.
“We are excited to see Hope for Hurting Hearts be recognized by these fine film festivals, but we are even more excited to know the film is being seen by a wide audience—Christians that are hurting who need encouragement and unbelievers who need to hear the gospel,” said Paul Eaton, executive producer for the film. “We look forward to what the Lord will do with this film and are gratified that it is being recognized.”

The film, which documents how four individuals were able to find hope in the midst of great tragedy, was released to Christian retailers on September 24. Mike Oden, President of the International Christian Film Festival, says, “Hope for Hurting Hearts is a powerful documentary. It addresses the difficult questions of life, and it allows the viewer to find hope and peace through their faith in Christ.”
“Harvest Films has once again produced a film that entertains, informs, and changes our perceptions of things in a way that we can never forget,” says Oden. The International Christian Film Festival by Josiah Productions desires to make a godly impact on an ungodly world by promoting Christian films, events, and projects in Southern California. The organization seeks the Lord with all heart and soul in its attempt to do great things for God.

The Christian Life International Film Festival is dedicated to the Christian life, and to good values. The film festival touches and teaches their audience, encouraging filmmakers to produce clean meaningful films that join together audiences from all walks of life.
Churches Making Movies Christian Film Festival seeks to empower the church-produced film movement, by being a vehicle to help churches regain their place in the filmmaking world. Their goal is to present the very best church-produced films in hopes that other churches will see and get excited about how movies can be an evangelical tool to reach the lost. The festival recognizes church-based filmmakers who have taken a step of faith and made a movie that moved a mountain.
Greg Laurie is the senior pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, one of the largest churches in the U.S. Laurie is also the founder and evangelist for Harvest Crusades, evangelistic outreach events that have drawn some 4.7 million people to stadiums and arenas around the world since 1990. Laurie serves on the board of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Harvest Films, a division within Greg Laurie’s Harvest Ministries, produces films that spread the gospel. In addition to Hope for Hurting Hearts, Harvest Films also produced Lost Boy: The Next Chapter, a biopic on the life of Greg Laurie, which has won eight international film festival awards for Best Documentary or Audience Favorite.
