NASHVILLE, TN (ANS) -- When John Wooden, the legendary basketball coach, nicknamed the “Wizard of Westwood,” and head coach at UCLA where he won ten NCAA national championships in a 12-year period, an unprecedented feat, referred to the last game he “ever taught,” he was asked about this phrasing.

He said simply that a coach is first and foremost a teacher who should not only improve his players’ athletic skills, but also help them become better people. And he was a superb teacher whose lasting influence is reflected in the values he instilled, not the championships he won.
Now Pat Williams, the Senior Vice President of the NBA’s Orlando Magic takes Coach Wooden’s lessons and has compiled a book together with Jim Denney. The book called “Coach Wooden's Greatest Secret: The Power of a Lot of Little Things Done Well” (Fleming H. Revell Company), shares stories of people like Walt Disney, Steve Jobs, and more whose lives have exemplified the importance of little things done well, and shows you how the small things you do or don’t do drastically affect your integrity, reputation, health, career, faith and success.
Coach Wooden knew the long-term impact of little things done well.

“The little things matter,” said Williams during an interview at the Annual NRB International Christian Media Convention and Exposition at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville. “All I need is one little wrinkle in one sock to put a blister on one foot – and it could ruin my whole season. I started teaching about shoes and socks early in my career, and I saw that it really did cut down on blisters during the season. That little detail gave us an edge.”
Want to do you very best in life, family, work and faith? Want to live a life of excellence that is worthy of emulation? This inspiring book will show you how it is done.
