PRAYER AND PRAISE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS!

God has given us the gift of prayer, to help us cope with life and to draw us into a deeper relationship with our heavenly Father. He enjoys fellowship with us, and all things are possible for those who believe.

As tests and challenges come our way, it strengthens our faith and help us grow into mature Christians.

When adversity comes, we should not be surprised, for we are warned many times in scripture the trying of our faith works patience.

In November, my brother-in-law passed away, after a long battle with Alzheimer's and heart problems.

As we drove into the drive-way after the funeral, we stopped at the mailbox to pick up the mail.

In the box was a summons for jury duty, starting a few days after Christmas.

The courthouse where I was to serve at was over 60 miles from my home each way, so as you can imagine... I was not thrilled at the summons, or the timing of the notice.

During the whole time leading up to my time of service, I kept praying for a miracle, so I would not have to drive in winter, so far from home in the dark.

I remembered so many wonderful scriptures in the Bible reminding me to not be anxious about anything, but with prayer and thanksgiving, I should let my requests be known to God.

Jesus told us...

If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye
shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:21-22

I thanked God that he was taking care of the problem and every time it came to mind, I said... NO! It's in God's hands, I'm not worrying about it any more.

When I would go for my walks each day, I’d sing and praise God for all he was doing behind the scenes to take care of us... and in doing so it made me feel peaceful and very loved to know someone cared about every detail of our life.

The weather report for the first week predicted freezing rain and snow over the entire state for days.

The first 2 nights, when I called after 6 p.m., I was told my name was not chosen, and to call back the next night for instructions.

The following night, I was told I didn’t have to call again until the next week on Monday evening.

Hallelujah!  I could end the year in peace!

Before the phone call Monday night, my husband and I held hands asking God to lift this problem from us completely, so we could get on with our life.

When I made the call, the operator said, Your service is ended! You do not have to call any more. Thank you for your service!

As you can imagine... I was dancing and praising God all around the house...

God not only heard our prayers... but miraculously protected us... just as he has done for us so many times in the past.

The Bible is filled with stories and words of encouragement, to help us cope, and find solutions to problems in our day to day life.

Prayer and praise calms our nerves and helps us through any and every adversity we may face in life.

Today you may be facing problems that are causing you stress and frustration.

It may be sickness, poverty, depression, a loved one who is suicidal... or addicted to drugs or alcohol.

Maybe you are a caregiver to someone who has needed your help for years, and you’re about to break from the stress of it all.

Beloved, lay your pain at the feet of Jesus and ask for his help.

Speak to the mountain of problems and watch your Almighty Father and his Son Jesus move in amazing ways.

He loves you so much that he died on the cross for your sins.

Because he suffered, he understands how much you're hurting.

His nail-scarred hands are open to give you comfort, healing, and peace.

Cast all your cares upon him precious one... for he cares for you.

Father thank you for being our ever present help in times of trouble. All praise and glory goes to you.

Forgive me for getting angry and frustrated at life's tests and challenges. know you are in charge of each minute of my day and all things work out for good.  Thank you for your words of wisdom, your power, and the gift of prayer to help me cope. You have said, in the world we will have trouble, but we can be of good cheer, you have overcome the world. If you are for us, no one can stand against us.

Father we lift up all who are suffering from sickness or adversity. Lift the cloud of depression, sickness, and disease from their bodies. Fill them with hope, peace, and renew their strength like the eagles, so they may run and not be weary, and walk and not faint.

We lay these petitions at the foot of the cross and ask you to move this mountain of troubles into the hands of Jesus. Our help comes from you the Creator of Heaven and Earth.

Bless us and show us how we may serve you today. We lift our hands to praise and thank you for all you have done and all you are about to do.

In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen

If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place: and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible.  Matthew 17:20

Have a beautiful and stress-free day!

Something good is going to happen to you!
