TRUE LOVE; WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
WIhin every heart; there is a longing to be loved, and find a love who will be with us, for better or worse... no matter what happens.
Over the years; my husband and I have gone through many tests and challenges.
We’ve also watched friends and family go through some difficult things; and in doing so we’ve learned, things don’t always happen like we think it will...
A few years ago, a loving couple we were friends with were given some disturbing news... his wife had cancer.
John and Sue... (not their real names) began spending their days going from doctor to doctor searching for a treatment that would cure Sue.
During that time; John lovingly did most of the work... waiting on his wife hand and foot.
He suddenly had to take care of financial and medical bills that were overwhelming; and deal with insurance claims and paperwork that at times seemed unfair to say the least.
John tried to always maintain an optimistic and thankful attitude; and was faithful and loving to Sue throughout all her tests, treatments, and procedures.
One day however; John suddenly woke up; unable to understand or comprehend much of anything.
Sue got a friend to take him to the doctor; and he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
Now Sue’s loving husband and caregiver... was in need of relief and care from her.
Sue and John had hoped to live out their days together in their home... but now Sue realized she had to make some difficult and speedy decisions for them both.
Sue quickly made arrangements to sell their home and many of their possessions; and move into a place where they both could get the care they needed and be safe.
Within a few weeks; John passed away and about a year later, Sue did too.
Sue and John were an inspiration to all their friends and family.
In marriage; the most important thing we can do is invite Jesus into our hearts and home.
When he is first place in our lives; he will help us through each trial and problem we face victorious.
We can’t always rely on friends and family to be their when we need them... but we know we have a loving heavenly Father who will never leave or forsake us.
Today; you may be about to start a new life with the love of your life, or facing some difficult decisions with your health or future.
Whatever you’re facing... God sent me to remind you how much he loves you.
Jesus said... Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden... I will give you rest.
Lay your pain and fears at his feet; and watch him supernaturally give you the strength and courage to face this new day with hope and joyful expectation.
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you...
Jesus, can you hear me?
Calling out your name.
My tears are falling softly
Like the gentle rain.
Thank you Lord for listening.
Please strengthen my weak faith.
Just knowing that you’re here with me,
Makes me feel so safe.
Jesus, you can heal me
From the pain inside my soul.
I long to hear you whisper…
Your faith has made you whole.
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsake them that seek thee. Psalm 98:9-10
May the words of this message and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, our strength and our redeemer.
